a possible solution to end malnutrition would be to donate medicne and give them nutritious foods. another way would be to teach them tips on preserving foods and how to tell when foods are not healthy enough to eat. but to truly be able to end all malnutrition, would be to end poverty!
As it might sound easy to do. Giving an entire nation affected by malnutrition food is quite a feat. How could you help the nutrition of an entire nation without teaching the people how to obtain at least some of the food?
ReplyDeleteWhere would the medicine and nutritious food come from? This is a great idea, but this food has to come from an outside source because Haiti is very poor and unable to cultivate enough food to feed its population. The food would have to be trasported to Haiti by car or ship, and then distributed by a trustworthy organization. This usually requires lots of cooperation, and sometimes the food does not always end up in the hands of the starved people of Haiti.
ReplyDelete"Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man how to fish, he eats for a lifetime.". Giving them food and nutrients will work for a little while, but how do you expect to feed an entire society forever? We need to educate the people in Haiti so that they can get their own food
ReplyDeleteWon't gathering enough food and medicine for an entire country take a huge amount of time, and a lot of detailed organization? Hoban's own canfood drive lasted for a few weeks and that was just for the city of Akron. And then the food would have to be shipped probably by plane or boat, which is not only time consuming but also very expensive. The food wold aslo have to be nonperishable. Once the food finally got to Haiti, it would have to be somehow equally disributed by an organization or volunteers. And unless enough food could be collected to sustain Haiti for a long time, it would have to be an ongoing process.
